Monik Nordine, Artistic Director of Swing Shift, is a jazz saxophonist,
teacher, composer and arranger, with a Bachelor of Music from University
of British Columbia and Master's Degree in Music from McGill University.
Monik teaches at Vancouver Island University, formerly Malaspina
College, in Nanaimo, BC.
She
has given clinics at the Pacific Jazz Workshop in Courtenay and the New
West Jazz Clinic as well as numerous public and private secondary
schools, including St. George's School, Crofton House, York House and
the University of Victoria.
Monik Nordine appears on the West Coast Music Award-nominated album
Cruel Yet Fair with The Hard Rubber Orchestra and the recording
